The New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce works to increase Business in New Braunfels, to create better Chamber Member Connections for its members, to make members more visible to potential customers, and to help New Braunfels Businesses work smarter. We strive to strengthen the local New Braunfels Economy, promote the New Braunfels Community, provide New Braunfels Networking Venues and Opportunities, represent the interests of our members, and take Action in New Braunfels.
New Braunfels Economic Development is a major activity, with the New Braunfels Chamber Staff responsible for New Braunfels Tourism development and New Braunfels Job Recruitment, retention and expansion. The Convention and Visitors Bureau is composed of multiple committees and hundreds of volunteers. The New Braunfels Industrial Development Corporation (4B) contracts with the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce for professional services as does the Greater New Braunfels Economic Development Foundation, a 501(c)3 not-for-profit corporation founded to lessen the burdens of government. The Chamber, City, and Foundation are represented by the brand Buildnb.com.
Another major area is Community Betterment. Committees in this category include Military Affairs which gives military recognition quarterly and Business-Education Partnership. More and more emphasis is being given to the education area, not only locally but nation wide, as today’s students are tomorrow’s workforce. The Central Texas Technology Center opened its doors in 2004 for Vocational and Technical training. An entrepreneurship center opened in September 2008 that encourages home-grown Businesses in New Braunfels. New Braunfels has well established teams including Leadership New Braunfels, Youth Leadership programs, and a special division for retirees. The New Braunfels Leadership Programs are a comprehensive year-long series of educational and training sessions for emerging leaders. The Retirees Are Progressive (RAP) division utilizes the expertise of retired individuals in the Chamber program of work.
The New Braunfels Chamber‘s Public Policy Division committees include Government Affairs, Natural Resources, and Transportation. The New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce is well known statewide for the Texas Legislative Conference held annually.
Another Division of the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce is the Membership Services and Outreach. The Chamber holds a major Business Trade Show, Seminars and Business Advisory sessions. The New Braunfels Chamber sponsors a Small Business Development Center and continues to set new records with a growing number of achievements.
