New Braunfels EDC is a non-profit umbrella organization that serves as the public/private partnership involving the New Braunfels via Comal County, the City and their 4B board, the Greater New Braunfels Economic Development Foundation and the Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce. Our role is to provide a confidential, single point of contact and offer corporate support for New Braunfels businesses looking to create new jobs in the area; either by relocating a new business or helping existing New Braunfels business expand.
For over 170 years, citizens of New Braunfels and surrounding areas have worked diligently in maintaining and improving the community in order to enjoy the best quality of life possible. Community leaders have successfully guided the community towards a healthy balance of social and economic growth.
Statistical evidence indicates the community will continue to experience growth, leaving a huge area of expansion for businesses in New Braunfels. The interest in New Braunfels and this area of the state can be a valuable asset if it is properly controlled and managed. With this in mind, and recognizing that the current generation has a responsibility to future citizens, a firm and comprehensive policy on growth has been adopted by the city and supported by New Braunfels EDC.
The mission is to encourage other areas of community leadership to follow accordingly. In addition, the City of New Braunfels has a 1/2¢ sales tax for economic development. A City Council appointed corporation (known as Type B) oversees these funds which are utilized for infrastructure needs and for low interest loans for qualified businesses looking to expand or relocate to New Braunfels. A private 501c foundation also supports the economic development strategy along with the staff from The Greater New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce.
